Mumbai, Jul 15: At the Governing Council meeting of the The Bombay Catholic Sabha [BCS] held on July 14 at St Michael's Auditorium Mahim, the house condoled the deaths of the innocent in the serial bomb blast

BCS salutes the spirit of the Mumbaikars who once again rose to the occasion in reaching out to those who were suffering. It also places on record thanks all the Doctors , Hospitals, Police and various Government Authorities who made themselves available to comfort the suffering.

We pray for the families who lost their near and dear ones that God may give them strength to bear this loss. And to those who have been injured our prayers for an early recovery.

BCS in response to the call given by the Chief Minister to observe a 2 minute silence on July 18 at 6.25 p.m. in memory of those who lost their lives have organized Memorial gatherings at the various venues where the blast occurred. The memorial service would consist of lighting the candles, and a pledge for Unity and Communal Harmony will be read and will conclude with the National Anthem. The text of the pledge is as follows:

"We offer our heartfelt sympathies to the deceased and to the members of the families.On this occasion we pledge ourselves to work with renewed determination for peace and harmony among all peoples irrespective of cast, creed or community."

BCS requests other organizations and citizens to participate, and also expects thousands to participate and send a strong message to terrorists that the people of India are united and the trouble-makers will not succeed in their nefarious designs.
