Mangalore, Jul 8: Alwyn Toras (25), hailing from Melkar-Bolangadi in Bantwal taluk here, died in a tragic motorcycle accident near Sringeri in Chikmagalur district Saturday afternoon.

Alwyn had worked as an electrician in Mumbai and then gone to Kuwait on employment. Two months ago, he had arrived in Mumbai and then come to his hometown.

Only a few days earlier, in Mumbai, Alwyn had appeared for interview for a job in Doha, State of Qatar and again come back to hometown.

On Friday, he is said to have received an intimation to the effect that he was successful in the interview and was to proceed to Qatar during the coming week.

In preparation of his departure, he was to leave Mangalore for Mumbai on Saturday, but suddenly postponed it to Monday. He told his family members that he would pay a quick visit to Sringeri and on the way met with an accident.

His parents, upon receiving an intimation from a private hospital in Sringeri, have proceeded to bring his mortal remains home.


His final rites are to be held in the Mai de Deus Church, Kalladka, Mogarnad on the morning of Sunday, July 9.
