UN to train Delhi doctors

New Delhi, May 27 (IANS): The UN will train doctors and officials of Delhi government's health department in drugs procurement and medical equipment supply chain management, an official said Tuesday.

A memorandum was signed here between the Delhi government and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in this regard.

"We have been working in India for years. We will support Delhi government in this effort," UNDP's country director (India) Jorn Sorensen said at the event.

The officials will undergo six-month-long training and appear for an examination after which a certificate will be provided to them.

The training will be organised by UNDP in collaboration with the International Trade Centre.
