New Delhi, May 27 (IANS): Long queues at government hospitals will be a thing of the past as Delhiites will now be able to book appointments for medical consultations online.

The online booking facility for the OPDs (out patient departments) will be available at Delhi government's 24 hospitals where one can schedule an appointment for the next 15 days in advance.

An applicant will have to register on the website of Delhi government's health department.

Available only for select specialties, the bookings - 100 per day - can be made up to 8 a.m. for the current date.

"This step will give relief to people in Delhi," said Chief Secretary S.K. Srivastava.
