London, Jul 7: Sachin Tendulkar struck his third hundred for the celebrity Lashings cricket club to steer his side to a 26-run victory over a Taunton School Invitation XI.

Tendulkar's 101, after which he chose to retire, helped Lashings World XI put on 223 for three in 30 overs.

Former Sri Lankan captain Aravinda de Silva also thrived with an unbeaten 101 in the match played at Somerset on Tuesday.

In reply, Taunton School Invitation XI could make 197 for 9 in 30 overs. Joe Cooper topscored with 52 while Simon Manley made 42.

Clare Connor (5/36) and Chris Harris (2/26) took the wickets for Lashings.

Tendulkar, seeking to make a comeback to international cricket following a shoulder surgery in March this year, has signed up for a short stint with the Kent-based club to test his fitness in match situations.

The Indian cricketing superstar has been scoring runs aplenty for the club, making 155, 147 and 98 in the previous three matches.
