Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 6: As many as 107 persons lost their life while heavy losses of property and crops reported from many parts of Kerala till July 4 in the monsoon havoc, a release said here today.

The rains which lashed in the state during the past few days had damaged 1,063 houses fully and 22,316 hours partially. The total loss in this regard was estimated to the tune of Rs 11 crore.

The natural fury had also destroyed agriculture in 24,844.32 hectre of lands and a loss of Rs 44.23 crore, the release added.

The government had shifted 1,199 people to 17 relief centres in different parts of the state and were being distributed food, cloths and medicines.

A 24-hour control room was functioning under district collectors and tahsildars, the release added.
