New Delhi, Jul 5: AIIMS Director Dr P Venugopal was ousted from his post at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on charges of violating the code of conduct after a meeting chaired by Union Health Minister A Ramadoss passed the resolution for his removal.
The three-hour-long meeting of a 17-member body of the Institute passed the resolution for Venugopal's ouster despite three members expressing a voice dissent, senior BJP leader V K Malhotra told reporters. PTI
AIIMS doctors go on strike protesting Venugopal's ouster
New Delhi: Doctors supporting sacked AIIMS Director Dr P Venugopal on Wednesday went on a strike to protest his removal from the post affecting services at the hospital.
"We have declared a strike. Resident doctors, students, scientists and faculty members have all gone on strike to protest the decision," said Dr Vinod Patra, a representative of the AIIMS Resident Doctors' Association.
