Flamengo held by Bahia in Brazil's Serie A

Rio de Janeiro, May 22 (IANS): Anderson Talisca scored from a free-kick in second-half injury time to earn Bahia a 1-1 draw with Flamengo in Brazil's Serie A championship Wednesday, Xinhua reported.

The 20-year-old midfielder struck a low fizzing shot from a set piece that beat goalkeeper Felipe into the bottom right corner.

Flamengo forward Paulinho had given the hosts an early lead at the Maracana stadium by heading in Everton Ribeiro's cross.

The defeat left the five-time Brazilian league winners with just five points from their first six matches of the campaign. Bahia are placed ninth on the league table with eight points.

Also Wednesday, Brazilian midfielder Alex scored late to earn Coritiba a 1-1 draw at home to Internacional.
