Karunanidhi wishes Modi 'happy tenure'


Chennai, May 21 (IANS): DMK president M. Karunanidhi Wednesday wished prime minister designate Narendra Modi "a happy and satisfying tenure".

In a letter to Modi, Karunanidhi said: "On behalf of DMK, I convey my best wishes to you for a happy and satisfying prime ministerial tenure, fulfilling the aspirations of all sections of this vast country."

Referring to Modi's speech in parliament Tuesday, he said: "You said your government will be one that thinks, works and lives for the poor and is dedicated to the villages, youth and women of India.

"People of this great nation expect you very eagerly to realise this lofty ambition."
