Conte signs new deal with Juventus

Rome, May 18 (IANS): Antonio Conte has extended his contract with Italian Serie A champions Juventus which will keep him with the football club till 2018.

According to local media, after several days' negotiation, Conte Saturday reached an agreement with Juventus club president Andrea Agnelli, reports Xinhua.

Conte had publicly claimed that he would not commit himself to the Turin club if he could not be guaranteed that his squad would be strengthened for a Champions League bid.

Under Conte's guidance, Juventus won their third consecutive Scudetto and set a new all-time record with 99 points in a single Italian Serie A season.

If they beat Cagliari Sunday, they would become the first ever Italian club to reach the 100-point milestone.
