Ibaka suffers season-ending injury


Washington, May 17 (IANS): Oklahoma City Thunder power forward Serge Ibaka would miss the rest of the NBA season because of left calf injury.

Ibaka suffered the injury during the Thunder's series-clinching victory over the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday, the NBA team said Friday, reports Xinhua.

Ibaka was the third-best scorer of the Thunder team, getting 15.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He bagged as many as 219 blocks in the regular season, leading the league for the fourth straight time.

Ibaka averaged 12.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in the Thunder's 13 playoff games.
