Bolivar-Lanus Libertadores Cup match sells out

La Paz (Bolivia), May 14 (IANS): Thursday's Libertadores Cup quarter-final match between Bolivia's Bolivar and their Argentine rival Lanus is sold out, with expectations running high among local fans.

Bolivar's Spanish coach Xabier Azkargorta touted Thursday's match as the "match of the year" in Bolivia because no Bolivian team has ever advanced to the Libertadores Cup's semifinals, reports Xinhua.

The first leg was drawn 1-1 last week.

Tickets Tuesday were quickly snapped up by Bolivian fans, who are keenly anticipating to see one of their teams to play for a berth in the top four of the most important contest in the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol).

An online ticket reservations system, which was implemented for the first time, crashed Tuesday after too many users overloaded the system.

BAISA SRL, the company that manages Bolivar, reported all stadium seats were sold out.

The police, meanwhile, said they will deploy the same level of security as at a World Cup qualifier, or some 1,200 officers.
