Ghana to play South Africa in women's football friendly

Accra, May 12 (IANS): The Ghana senior women's national team will play South Africa in an international friendly May 18 in Johannesburg.

Ghana will use the friendly as part of their preparations for their two-leg 2014 African Women's Championship qualifier against Ethiopia later this month and in June, reports Xinhua.

After the game with South Africa, Ghana travel straight to the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, for the African qualifier against Namibia.

Ghana is through to the second round of qualifying and will meet Ethiopia for a place in the finals to be staged by Namibia in October.
