Seven killed in Afghanistan attack


Kabul, May 9 (IANS): At least seven people were killed and 29 injured Friday when an insurgent group launched an attack on a security check point in Afghanistan, media reported.

"More than 100 militants raided a joint army and police check point in Farah province. The security forces responded with intense firing. The battle left one soldier and six militants dead," a security source told Xinhua.

Among the injured, 11 were security personnel and 19 were from the militant group, the source added.
