Ten killed in Afghanistan bomb attacks


Kabul, May 6 (IANS): At least ten policemen were killed and three injured in two bomb attacks in Afghanistan, a police source said.

In one attack, three Afghan civil order police personnel were killed and two officers were injured when their jeep was struck by a roadside bomb in Obe district.

"The unit was on routine patrol. Their vehicle was destroyed in an attack at around 10:00 a.m. A male suspect holding a remote controller was arrested after the blast," the district police chief, Colonel Shir Agha, told Xinhua.

Four Afghan Border Police men were killed and four injured late Monday in an attack in Ghoryan district of the province, 640 km west of Afghan capital Kabul.

Three injured died later in the hospital, a border police official said.
