Days after Congress praise for Vajpayee, tweets call him 'weakest PM'

New Delhi, Apr 14 (Agencies) :  Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha posted a series of tweets today describing Atal Bihari Vajpayee as "the weakest PM India ever had", just three days after his party website praised the BJP veteran.

"The weakest PM ever was AB Vajpayee, who wanted to sack Mr Modi for the ghastly Gujarat massacre, but succumbed to BJP bullying. The weakest PM India ever had was AB Vajpayee who gave Kandahar terrorists an escort-service,and allowed Parliament to be attacked," Mr Jha tweeted.

The tweets intensified a new war of words over the memoirs of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's former media adviser Sanjaya Baru, who says Congress president Sonia Gandhi oversaw all major decisions of the government and the PM was "defanged."

"Dear Mr Modi/Jaitley, Just asking, but since you are so convinced about Sanjaya Baru, how about DG Vanzara's letter-bomb? Right?" Mr Jha hit back, referring to the letter of a Gujarat police officer jailed in a fake encounter case, claiming that he had acted on the Modi government's orders.

The Congress spokesperson followed it up with a flurry of tweets that began with the words "the weakest PM ever was AB Vajpayee..."

"The weakest Prime Minister that India ever had was AB Vajpayee. Gen Musharraf spent a night on Indian soil, while the PMO and NDA snored," he tweeted.

Mr Vajpayee, the BJP's only prime minister so far, retired from active politics in 2006.

Last week, the Congress used Mr Vajpayee to target Narendra Modi, the party's prime ministerial candidate, on its website.

"No leader in the BJP can match the stature of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee," the Congress' message said, and invoked Mr Vajpayee's reported rebuke to Mr Modi during the 2002 riots in his Gujarat that "Rajdharma (ruler's duty) should be followed.

The BJP today said the Congress is a 'confused party' facing a leadership crisis.

"Sanjay jha is the weakest spokesperson of Congress," said journalist MJ Akbar, who joined the BJP recently. "I can only feel pity for him."

Vajpayeeji had the courage to shake hands with the enemy, though they were not trustworthy, and who later backstabbed. He called for talks on whole Kashmir including POK and boldly d in the U.N. that India will never bow before terrorism and minorities are much better protected in India than in Pakistan. As Foreign Minister in 1978, he cut short his visit to China when the latter attacked Vietnam. The prediction of Mr. Nehru was right when he first heard Vajpayee in Parliament and stated that this man will lead the nation one day. Mr. L.B. Shastri and Mr.A.B. Vajpayee were the best PMs India ever had, well known for their honesty, integrity and dedication to the nation. At this stage we do not need any Jha to tell us who was best or worst. The nation knows it well.

Ex-Prime Minister Atel Behari Vajpayee was a weakest P.M. Because RSS had the remote control.

For Gujarat atrocities against Christians RSS compelled Vajpayee to change his statement.

Furthermore, he was a Wheel-Chair Prime Minister.

He agreed to hand over terrorists who were in jail to Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was so impressed of Vajpayee's oratorial skills that he predicted someday he would become India's Prime Minister.
Vajpayee was referred to as the Bhishma Pitamah of Indian Politics by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh during his speech in the Rajya Sabha
The only regular visitors are N M Ghatate, Vajpayee's friend of nearly six decades, Advani and B C Khanduri,. Dr. Manmohan Singh makes regular inquiries about his health and never misses wishing Vajpayee personally on his birthday.
Sanjay Jha allow him to live @ at this age/stage.
