Schalke tighten grip on third place in Bundesliga

Berlin, April 12 (IANS): Goals by Max Meyer and Jefferson Farfan secured Schalke a 2-0 win over Frankfurt in the opener of the 30th round of the German Bundesliga.

Third placed 'Royal Blues' Friday cemented their Champions League ambitions as Jens Keller's men opened a 10 point to their closest chasers, reports Xinhua.

It was Schalke's fourth straight home victory whereas Frankfurt recorded their 13th loss of the season to remain in 11th place.

Bayern take on Borussia Dortmund in a top of the table clash Saturday night, Monchengladbach faceStuttgart, Hannover meet Hamburg and Wolfsburg host Nuremberg.
