ANR lives on in 'Manam' trailer


Chennai, April 8 (IANS): The trailer of upcoming Telugu family-drama "Manam", which was unveiled Tuesday on the occasion of Ramanawami, gives the audience one last glimpse of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), who passed away recently.

"Manam" is Nageswara Rao's last film, which also features his son Akkineni Nagarjuna and grandson Akkineni Naga Chaitanya.

The trailer opens with a voice-over of ANR and ends with a close-up of the actor, who has essayed an important role in the film.

Going by the trailer, the film looks like a family entertainer coupled with an element of mystery.

Although produced by Nagarjuna under his home banner Annapurna Studios, "Manam" is being promoted as a film by 'The Akkineni Family'.

The family wants "Manam" to be a befitting farewell to Nageswara Rao,

With some patchwork left to be completed, the film is slated for release in May. It also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Shriya Saran in important roles.

"Manam" is directed by Vikram K. Kumar of "13 B" fame.
