Recalling first meet : Gorgeous Tanya Perera who stumped Asia Cup hero Lasith Malinga

New Delhi / Colombo, Apr 7 (Daily Bhaskar) : Riding on pacer Lasith Malinga’s five-wicket haul,  Sri Lanka on Saturday regained the Asia Cup trophy with a comfortable five-wicket victory over defending champions Pakistan.

The Sri Lankan pacer pegged Pakistan back as he demolished the rival top order with his fierce pace. Malinga has always been a dominant force for Sri Lanka. You know him for his low-slung action, accurate yorkers or his quirky hairstyle yet how many of you know about the woman behind his success?

It's Matara girl Tanya Perera, the lovely wife of the cricketer. Lasith first met Tanya at a hotel in Hikkaduwa in Sri Lanka.

Lasith was the brand ambassador for a private firm while Tanya's company handled the advertising campaign. It was a formal meeting but Lasith came closer to her when they both met again in Galle.

As per media reports, Lasith also got her contact number during the meeting.

A Sri Lankan magazine quoted Tanya as saying, "Lasith is a simple guy. That's why I like him. When he proposed me I asked him to seek my parents' permission, which he did."
