Mumbai, Jun 6: Two more HSC students who failed their exams, attempted suicide on Monday night, taking the toll to three.

Sapna Patil, 16, (name changed) consumed sleeping pills at 7 pm, at her home in Jogeshwari (W) after she got her results yesterday. She was admitted to Ruby Hospital, Oshiwara, in the evening. Her condition is reported to be stable.

The other girl, Jyotsna Lokhande (name changed), attempted suicide at her Goregaon home at midnight. Lokhande reportedly failed in two subjects and consumed rat poison. She was admitted to Bhagwati Hospital, Borivli and is stable.

Earlier on Monday, a girl was admitted to KEM Hospital for attempted suicide. She consumed poison for failing her HSC exams.

Drunken revelry

Meanwhile, a HSC student (he had cleared his exams) was detained along with two friends by the Azad Maidan police at 2 am on Tuesday for drunken driving. Abhijeet Manjrekar (21), Prasad Shantaram (23) and Ganesh Bhor (19) were on  motorbikes near the Bombay High Court.

“One of them cleared his exams and the three celebrated with beer. It is unclear who of the three is the HSC student. They are so drunk that they are unable to give their correct addresses and are even hiding their identities,” police said.
