Chhattisgarh face Kerala national girls hockey final


Mysore, March 12 (IANS): Chhattisgarh and Kerala stormed into the final of the fourth Hockey India (HI) Junior Women's National Championship (Division B) at the Chamundi Vihar Hockey Ground here Wednesday.

In the first semi-final, Chhattisgarh defeated Manipur 4-0. Chhattisgarh’s Ishika Chaudhary was responsible for scoring the first goal (8th minute) followed by Priyanka Parihar (34th). In the second half, Akanksha Parmar and Sadhna Sengar banked a field goal each in the 38th and 65th minutes, respectively.

In the second semi-final, Kerala gave a shocker to Gangpur-Odisha by trouncing them 2-0. In the 26th minute Sindhu M.R. scored a field goal while Amala Thomas scored the second in the 68th minute.

Semi-final results: Chhattisgarh 4 beat Manipur 0; Kerala 2 beat Gangpur-Odisha 0.
