Soundarya will make Rajinikanth proud: lyricist

Chennai, March 10 (IANS): Lyricist Vairamuthu, who has worked on forthcoming Tamil period-drama "Kochadaiiyaan" with superstar Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya, is confident that she will make her father proud with the movie.

Soundarya has directed her father in "Kochadaiiyaan", which is said to be India's first motion capture photo-realistic 3D animated film.

"I think she is the first daughter in India to direct her father. If Rajini raised his daughter on his shoulders when she was young, it is now her turn to shoulder her father through the film. I'm sure she will make him proud with 'Kochadaiiyaan'," Vairamuthu, who has penned all the songs in the film, told IANS.

"It's a huge responsibility to direct Rajinikanth. Being his daughter doesn't make it easier. In fact, it is even more challenging because the stakes are high. But Soundarya has handled the pressure very well. The film is now in the hands of the audience," the lyricist said.

"Kochadaiiyaan", which also stars Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, R. Sarath Kumar, Nasser, Aadi Pinisetty, Shobana and Rukmini, is slated to release April 11.

The film is jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment. Plans are underway to release the movie in twelve languages.
