Mithali to lead India in ICC Women's World T20


Mumbai, Feb 21 (IANS): Mithali Raj will lead India in the upcoming ICC Women's World Twenty20 to be played in Bangladesh from March 23 to April 6.

The same team will also play three T20 Internationals against Bangladesh from March 9 in preparation for the World T20.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Sanjay Patel said in a statement that the All-India Women's Selection Committee picked the team Friday.

India start their campaign against Sri Lanka March March 24 before facing England (March 26), hosts Bangladesh (March 30) and the West Indies (April 1).

The team: Mithali Raj (Captain), Harmanpreet Kaur (vice-captain), Smriti Mandhana, V.R. Vanitha, Madhuri Meheta, Latika Kumari, Karuna Jain, Jhulan Goswami, Gouher Sultana, Soniya Dabir, Shikha Pandey, Poonam Yadav, Sravanthi Naidu, S. Shubh Lakshmi.

Team management: Purnima Rau (Coach), Neha Karnik (Physio), Kavita Pandya (Trainer), Aarti Nalge (Video analyst), Vidya Yadav (Manager).
