Panaji, May 25:  The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Goa branch, as well as Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) said there is no confirmation on the nationwide strike over the reservation issue.

IMA Goa branch Chairman Dr Fransisco Colaco today said that the IMA in Goa has not received any official intimation from the headquarters in Delhi about a nationwide strike to be called on May 25.

Dr Colaco said that the IMA in Goa has called for a meeting on May 25 to discuss the reservation issue. Although the government has decided to go ahead with the 27 per cent reservation for the OBC’s and the number of seats in the general category, Dr Colaco said that this has not been totally accepted.

When contacted, the president of the Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) Dr Vishwanath Marathe said that nothing has been confirmed about the nationwide strike to be called on May 25
.
He also said that the GARD had not received anything official from the IMA in Goa.
