Congress, BJP term Kejriwal's resignation 'drama'

New Delhi, Feb 14 (IANS): The Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday termed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's resignation a "drama."

Curtains came down on the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) government in Delhi Friday after the opposition did not allow tabling of the Jan Lokpal bill, a major poll promise, leading to an end of its 49 days of rule.

"As far as Kejriwal's resignation is concerned, it is a scripted drama," said state Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely. "Congress was always for Jan Lokpal."

"Kejriwal and his ministers were never serious about governance," added Congress leader Ajay Maken.

The BJP labelled the episode as "scripted" and said Kejriwal has "miserably failed".

"Kejriwal has not delivered anything and has miserably failed. He had no other choice (but to quit). He has only made tall claims," BJP leader Harsh Vardhan said. "I am prepared for an election even if it happens next week," he added.

Like the Congress, the BJP too said they were not opposed to the Jan Lokpal bill.

The Congress and the BJP have maintained the AAP government was not following constitutional procedures to get the bill passed in the assembly.

    DON'T UNDER ESTIMATE AK.
One thing is can't deny, AK is not a ordinary "DRAMA BAAZ". Lack of experience, lack of sufficient fund, lack of guidance also some extent arrogance, he temporarily failed in politics. But one thing will be sure, he may become a big headache to new any government in coming days.

One who couldn't do any positive while in power as an IT officer, what can be expected as CM?!! AK being rightly replaced word for the word 'U-TURN' is not fit to be CM not even to be a politician! He is better off with the role of Aam Aadmi & protesting for each of the small things on a daily basis! In all context his resignation is good for Delhi....in the long run. AK & his team should be there, but not in power, but in opposition...just to make ruling party WORK PROPERLY...it may be Congress or BJP, whoever will come to power, AAP can be good opposition, if not the BEST!

AAP rule in Delhi has come to an end yesterday. It is mainly due to lack of experience, over enthusiasm and headstrong attitude of the party. They were doing good and bad with unsustainable speed and the resignation of CM was really anticipating and expected.Hope the things are subsided for good.Thanq.

Ahmed, did you saw yesterday Delhi Assembly workings..Kejriwal scripted his drama 4-5 days back..he just want to quit since he can not deliver & fulfil his promise..so he wanted to clash with everyone & finally to resign as martyr..there is rule that copy of bill has to provide to members at least 2 days in advance to read & discuss..but AAP given draft just day before the day at night..If Lokpal bill was so important for AAP,why AAP couldn't wait for few more days to go through required procedure..they faught for 2 years cant they wait for 2 weeks!!.. even if it passed whole implement process will take another 1 year..if so why AAP ignored other issue, why they run away from other basic problem plaguing Delhi?..AAP is a bunch of arrogant fools, who thinks they & their supporters are only honest others corrupt..LG Najeeb jung is Congress agent, then waht about the President? he is also a Congressman!!..Kejri doesnt know how to administrate ,you can not expect him creating employment & giving good governance..he is fit to hold Dharna,he want to become famous Gandhi & by pass ANNA ..Delhites will question AAP when they go for begging vote..next Assembly election will be fatal for them, Congress will gain lost foot..

AAP deliberately did not follow procedures while tabling the Jan Lokpal Bill so that it should get rejected. He was looking for an opportunity to opt out and the anti-graft bill was the perfect reason for doing so as it would enable him to go out in a blaze of glory and accuse the Congress and the BJP of not being serious about fighting corruption…

All political parties play with emotions of poor & gullible and enact dramas to gain popularity and vote banks. This is an unfortunate reality.

But when AAP came from a noble background of Anna Hajare & india against corruption, middle class Indians thought that here is a party which may work genuinely for the cause of people and shun these dramas & playing with emotions on non-issues.

But AAP is proving tobe another Congress or BJP, picking up emotional non-issue and enacting big drama. Everyone knows that they couldn't manage to govern and in their tearing hurry to enter into National elections Kejriwal found an exit rout.

If they wanted strong Lokpal/lok Yakut they could have brought changes in existing legislation. But their drama was for some other reason.

Poor AAP, which could collect over Rs.20 crore for Delhi elections and closed the gates for over pouring donations, is poised have big shock on this vital donation oxygen. They could collect just about Rs.8.50 crores (including over Rs.1.00 crore from Bhushans, who advocate splitting nation). The collections in February is less tha Rs.50 lacs out of above Rs. 8.50 lacs. This clearly shows that people are not interested in their National politics. Now they need funds for Delhi re-elections (if assembly is desolved)

All the best to AAP blind supporters.

    Mr. Rao,
Contradicting your stand, but not to offend:
    1. AAP couldn't rule because they don't have numbers they were pushed to rule and assured support that's not their fault.
    2. AAP has exhibited courage to introduce Lokpal bill amid opposition, proves that they are principled and not ready to compromise come what may.
    3. Poor collection of donations attributable to their donors may not be big industrialist again show to whom they represent and principles.

Valerian, nobody withdrawn support from AAP..dont you think there is much pressing things in Delhi than Lokpal..Lokpal can be passed with due process even after one month..how AAP predicted it will be doomed by LG & Central Congress Govt!!..they placed it in way that it will be doomed..then whose fault it anyway..BJP never said it will oppose the bill..AAP election weapon is corruption issue & Lokpal..Corruption issue already lost steam since every party now speak of corruption free Govt..OnlY Lokpal is left with APP..If Lokpal was passed, then AAP will run out of issue..so they wanted to keep Lokpal much alive!!..

Mr. Rao, AAP has informed and proved the Nation, actually who is behind India's Political Giants, and who runs this great Country and for whose benefit !??!, so both enemy's come together to defend and consolidate their position. Hence, they discreetly support non passage of Lokpal Bill, RTI in Political funding,Both are bent on dividing the Nation, one in the name of Minority and another one in the name of the Majority, and we fools fight each other to appease them. I salute Kejriwal he had the guts to shed the light on Ambani and UPA nexus. These Industrialists have made these Political giants has their slave, Pais fenko Thamasha deko!!!!!

    Dear AAP supporters,

You will not agree Kejriwal could have sorted out the unconstitutionality of introducing the bill by moving court & feel elighted with introducing the bill just for heck of it & to jump out of Governance.

You also don't explain as to why donations are ping considerably and why new donors not joining? When they contested Delhi polls donations were out pouring & the closed the gates after counting Rs. 20.00 crore. But why sudden change... If their support base is going up. As already stated the NRI support has almost come to stand still, if you observe donation flow tred from USA.

Please counter above factuals with reasoning & not just wishful thinking.

In my opinion next one month is crucial for AAP. Even after yesterday's martierdom if donations donot pick up....no wishful thinking can save AAP.

I observe the contribution from Mangalore is almost NIL! They need funds, just support doesn't help.

Does not matter if I am a Congress supporter. In addition, I will support anyone who can kick Feku's butt.

It requires a 'crazy, but smart' person like AK to outsmart the cunning ways of the main communal party who are getting thoroughly beaten at their own 'media game'.

Do not want a communal government !!!
