Somdev, Yuki to clash in semis

Chennai, Feb 6 (IANS): Top seed Somdev Devvarman did not have to strike ball to reach the semi-finals of the PL Reddy Memorial ATP Challenger tennis tournament as his opponent Jordi Samper Montana of Spain suffered from stomach cramps and gave a walk over here Thursday.

Meanwhile, Yuki Bhambri had a good day beating Louis Pouille of France 3-6, 6-2, 6-2, to set up a clash with Devvarman.

Pouille started stroking fluently on both flanks and outplayed Bhambri to win the first set. However, Bhambri found his bearings in the second and served brilliantly to take away the advantage from the Frenchman to win the next two sets with a degree of comfort.

Temperamental Alexander Kudrayatsev of Russia gave Saketh Myneni no chance whatsoever as he annihilated the Indian 6-0, 6-2 in less than an hour and will play Evgney Donskoy the second seed who put out Sanam Singh 7-5, 6-4.
