Calhanoglu extends contract with Hamburg


Berlin, Feb 6 (IANS): Hamburg's youngster Hakan Calhanoglu extended his contract with the German football club until 2018.

The attacking midfielder put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension, the club said in an official statement Wednesday, reports Xinhua.

The Turkish international joined the German Bundesliga side in 2012 from third division side Karlsruher SC.

"I have always said that I feel well in Hamburg. I want to continue to play for the club for the coming years and become an integral part of the team. I wanted to sent an example in our difficult situation," the youngster told the club's official homepage.
