Iran in talks with Vingada to coach football team

Tehran, Feb 2 (IANS): Iran is in talks with Portuguese coach Nelo Vingada to direct the Iranian Olympic football team.

Iran is without a coach since the team failed to qualify for the 2012 Olympics under Iranian Alireza Mansourian, reports Xinhua.

"Our negotiation with Vingada is still ongoing," Iran Football Federation president Ali Kaffashian said Saturday during unveiling Iran national football team's jersey for the 2014 World Cup.

Iran participated in the 1976 Montreal Olympics and made it to the second round where it was beaten by former Soviet Union 1-2.
