Ashton Agar suspended for Code of Behaviour breach

Melbourne, Jan 30 (IANS): Cricket Australia (CA) Thursday suspended Ashton Agar for breaching the CA Code of Behaviour during the Toyota Futures League match between Queensland and Western Australia Wednesday.

Agar was reported by the umpires for breaching Article 2.1.3 -- showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match.

This was Agar’s second offence in 18 months under this Article and, therefore, the applicable range of permissible sanctions is elevated to be equivalent to a Level 2 Offence under the Code.

Agar admitted to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction of two suspension points and he is, therefore, suspended for Western Australia’s next four-day match.

A Code of Behaviour hearing was not required as Agar admitted the offence and accepted the sanction.
