Courtney Walsh to take part in celebrity cricket


St. George's, Jan 20 (IANS/CMC): Former West Indies cricketers Courtney Walsh and Rawl Lewis have been confirmed to participate in the inaugural Junior Murray/Made In Grenada Celebrity cricket match next month.

The game, scheduled for Feb 9 at the Progress Park in St. Andrew, will be part of the activities marking Grenada’s 40th anniversary of independence.

They will join former Combined and Windward Islands spinner Thomas Kentish on the Junior Murray team which will play against an Ex-National Eleven.

Other regional and international cricketing friends of Junior Murray are expected to confirm their participation as the countdown to the game continues.

Murray, who played in 33 Tests and 55 One-day Internationals for the West Indies, turned 46 Monday.
