Djokovic cruises into Australian Open quarters


Melbourne, Jan 19 (IANS): Novak Djokovic beat Italian 15th seed Fabio Fognini 6-3, 6-0, 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals at the Australian Open here Sunday.

The Serbian is yet to drop a set at Melbourne Park and took the victory in 93 minutes, reports Xinhua.

Djokovic won the opening set with a solitary break.

From the fourth deuce of the opening game in the second set, Djokovic won 14 of the next 15 points to surge to 4-0 and ended the contest.

Djokovic fired off seven aces and converted six break points in the match.

The Serbian has won all four matches in straight sets and moved to 7-0 all-time against Fognini.
