Iranian football referee suspended for match-fixing


Tehran, Jan 13 (IANS): Iranian football referee Mohsen Ghahremanim has been suspended for eight months over match-fixing in the Iranian Professional League.

Ghahremani, who has been out of work since September, was suspended by disciplinary committee of Iran Football Federation Sunday for eight months, reported Tehran Times.

Ghahremani made wrong decisions during Sepahan-Persepolis match in Isfahan in September, where the visiting team lost 2-0.

Persepolis coach Ali Daei accused Ghahremani of supporting Sepahan.

A number of people have been charged in relation to match-fixing offence in Iranian football.
