Ankita wins in Aurangabad tennis


Aurangabad, Jan 7 (IANS): Top seed Ankita Raina outplayed Malaysia's Theiviya Selvarajoo 6-2, 6-2 en route to a second round at the $10,000 Enduranace MSLTA ITF women's tennis tournament here Tuesday.

Also advancing were Japanese fourth seed Emi Mutaguchi, who swept past Arantxa Andrady 6-3, 6-2, and compatriot Chihiro Nunome, who ousted Sharmada Balu 6-1, 6-2.

Wildcard Rutuja Bhosale went through a tough first set but settled down to beat Anushka Bhargava 6-4, 6-1 while qualifier Amrita Mukherjee scored an easy 6-2, 6-0 win over wildcard Isha Budwal.
