England promises tough competition to opponents


New Delhi, Jan 6 (IANS): England aim to give tough competition to other teams at the Hockey World League Final to be held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here Jan 10-18.

The team practiced under the guidance of coach Bobby Crutchley here Monday and will open their campaign against India on the opening day.

“We are aiming at giving tough competition to all teams that we will be playing against. While all teams are good and strong, but the toughest competition will be Australia," said Crutchley.

"During our practice sessions we are giving utmost emphasis on areas where we feel maximum errors will happen. We haven’t come here with a set strategy in place, rather we will take each match on every given day.”
