Gajdosova crashes out of Sydney International tennis


Sydney, Jan 6 (IANS): Australian tennis player Jarmila Gajdosova lost to American qualifier Lauren Davis in the first round of the Sydney International, ending the host nation's participation in the women's draw here Monday.

After a second set tie break in the tense match, the American emerged a 6-4, 7-6(8) winner over the 26-year-old Australian. Davis moves into a second round clash with Italian third seed Sara Errani, reports Xinhua.
