South Africa bowled out for 244


Johannesburg, Dec 20 (IANS): India grabbed a 36-run lead bowling out South Africa for 244 runs in the first innings on the third day of their first cricket Test at the Wanderers here Friday.

Resuming at 213/6, South Africa lost four wickets for 31 runs in the first hour of the day. Vernon Philander made 59.

Zaheer Khan, who was playing his first international match in 12 months, finished with four for 88 while Ishant Sharma got four for 79. Mohammad Shami got two for 48.

India had made 280 in their first innings.
