Bahrain, April 20: The newly formed Karavali konkans Association of Bahrain organized its inaugural meeting at Chef’s Corner on 10th April 2006 at 10.30 a.m. This association has been formed to promote past and present Konkani culture, dance and tradition from the West Coast belt of the Indian peninsula.

The inaugural committee with veteran, Ronald D. F. D’Souza as president has four other active committee members for the first year of its existence. DABAZO-2006, a Konkani song and dance cultural show performed on 23rd February at the Bishop Tirinanzi Hall, with artists residing in Kuwait was the first show organized bringing back memories of golden Konkani hits of yester years by artists from the konkan heartland now residing in Kuwait.
The association has been registered with the Co-ordination Committee of Indian Associations which is affiliated to the Indian Embassy.
