Julio Cesar could return to Brazil in January

Rio de Janeiro, Nov 10 (IANS): Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar has said he will be looking for a new club in January when the transfer window opens again.

The QPR stopper has been unable to cement a regular place in the London club's starting line-up this season and needs playing time before the World Cup in June and July next year, reported Xinhua.

Cesar is currently coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's first choice goalkeeper for the national side and played in every game during the country's successful Confederations Cup campaign earlier this year.

The 33-year-old admitted a return to a club in Brazil is a possibility.

"If God is willing, I will find a new team to help Felipao and Parreira (the assistant coach). They are helping me a lot and now I also need to help them," he said.

Scolari has always called up Cesar when he has been available and he is also in the squad for the Selecao's upcoming friendlies against Honduras and Chile, to be played on Nov 16 and Nov 19 respectively.

He has been linked to Brazilian club Sao Paulo but Cesar insisted that at this moment he has not been in contact with any team.

"I still haven't received any offers. Football in Brazil is very competitive and I would be close to everything," he said.
