British women set new pursuit world record


London, Nov 2 (IANS): Britain's women set a new world record in reaching the final of the Track World Cup in Manchester Friday, Xinhua reported.

Reigning Olympic champions Laura Trott, Dani King and Joanna Rowsell, alongside new hand Elinor Barker, clocked four minutes 23. 910 seconds for the world mark.

The previous world record of 4:26.556 was set by Britain in winning the European title last month.
