Mangalore, Mar 23: The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NIT-K), Suratkal will organize ‘Engineer 2006,’ a four-day annual technical symposium from March 30 to April 2.

The annual event is expected to have participants from USA, Germany, Poland, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cyprus, Vietnam and Azerbaijan and prestigious institutions like University of Ulm, Germany, Ninyang University of China, Stanford and Carnegie Mellon Universities will also be participating in the event.

Breaking all the records is the cash prize in the event which is grand US $1000.

As a prelude to the event, the college will organize an online programming contest named ‘Inscription.’ Participants from over 15 countries will participate in this marathon event which will go on for eight hours on Sunday March 26.

The online programming contest involves challenging computational problems to be solved in C/C++ or Java programming languages which have to be submitted online within eight hours. Registrations can be made online at http://engineer.nitk.ac.in/inscription.

Participants from top companies like Microsoft India, Google India, Trilogy, Yahoo India, Amdocs, Satyam and CTS have already confirmed their participation.
