Tomic, Hewitt knocked out early at European indoor events

Sydney, Oct 16 (IANS): Australian tennis players Bernard Tomic and Lleyton Hewitt have suffered early exits from the European indoor events.

Hewitt lost his opening round match at the Vienna Open Tuesday to Canadian seventh seed Vasek Pospisil 7-6, 6-4 in 95 minutes, reports Xinhua.

Hewitt has been troubled by a wrist problem but decided to take his chances in Vienna.

Meanwhile Tomic was beaten 4-6, 2-6 in the first round of the Stockholm Open by American Jack Sock.

The 20-year-old, who recently slipped out of the world's top 50, is coming off a second-round loss in Beijing, and a first-round loss at the Shanghai Masters.
