Top seeds reach final qualifying round


Tashkent, Oct 6 (IANS): The top four seeds came a step closer to qualifying for the main draw of the Tashkent Challenger here.

Top seeded Lucas Pouille of France, No.2 seed Yyoung-Kyu Lim of Korea, No.3 Danai Udomchoke of Thailand and fourth seeded Sarvar Ikramov of Uzbekistan reached the final round of the qualifiers at the fifth edition of the $125,000 event at the Olympic School Tennis Complex.

Men's singles qualifying (Second round): Lucas Pouille (FRA) bt Sardor Pulatov (UZB) 6-4, 6-2; Yyoung-Kyu Lim (KOR) bt Rasul Akhmadaliev (UZB) 6-2, 6-2; Danai Udomchoke (THA) bt Alexander Tsatkin (UZB) 6-0, 6-0; Sarvar Ikramov (UZB) bt Adil Shamasdin (CAN) 7-6(6), 6-2; Vaja Uzakov (UZB) bt Pavel Tsoy (UZB) 6-4, 6-3; Sergey Shipilov (UZB) bt Khumoun Sultanov (UZB) 6-2, 6-4; Batyr Sapaev (UZB) bt Shokhruh Abdumalikov (UZB) 6-3, 6-1; Frank Moser (GER) bt Alessandro Motti (ITA) 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
