Mumbai Indians fined for slow over rate


New Delhi, Oct 6 (IANS): Mumbai Indians have been fined after maintaining a slow over rate during their Champions League Twenty20 semifinal against Trinidad and Tobago at the Ferozeshah Kotla here.

At the end of Saturday's match, the Indians were assessed to be an over behind the required rate, after allowances were taken into consideration.

Skipper Rohit Sharma has been fined $1,500 while each team member has been fined $750.

"This was his (Sharma's) second offence of the season under the CLT20’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences and Mr. Sharma was fined US$1,500 whilst each team member was fined US$750," said a CLT20 statement Sunday.
