Maggio to undergo knee operation


Rome, Sep 24 (IANS): Italy and Napoli defender Christian Maggio will undergo a knee surgery after picking up a meniscus injury.

The Italian international was checked by specialist professor Mariani at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome Monday, and was advised to have a surgery to fix the problem, reports Xinhua.

Napoli expect him to return to action when the Serie A resumes at the eighth round after the international break.

Maggio, born in 1982, has featured in two League games and one Champions League tie so far this term.
