Mangalore, Feb 25: With the bird flu menace still fresh in people’s minds, the Mangalore City Corporation has began an operation against the spread of malaria.

On Thursday, February 23, president of the standing committee for health S Appi along with MCC health officers issued notices to two institutions for breeding mosquito larvae in their premises.

The team visited a high-rise building under construction near Ballalbagh and found a fountain located in the premises infested with mosquito larvae. A notice was issued to the owners Inland Group.

The team led by Appi also visited the premises of St Antony Ashram in Jeppu and found mosquito breeding in all six tanks there. A notice has also been issued to the management of the institution.
