Warrier replaces Irfan in India Red squad


Mumbai, Sep 17 (IANS): All-rounder Irfan Pathan has been ruled out of the N.K.P. Salve Challenger Trophy due to an injury and will be replaced by Kerala's Sandeep Warrier in the India Red squad.

Irfan's brother Yusuf Pathan will lead the India Red squad in his absence in the tournament to be held from Sep 26-29 in Indore.

"Irfan Pathan has been ruled out of the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy, due to injury. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has replaced him with Sandeep Warrier in the India Red squad. Yusuf Pathan will lead India Red in the tournament," Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Sanjay Patel said Tuesday.
