Mangalore, Feb 24:  The Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), Mangalore Chapter, organized a meet on Thursday February 23 here.

Addressing the gathering, Justice M F Saldanha, former Karnataka High Court judge, recalled his student days in the city and said that the forest cover was about 87 per cent, which at present has diminished to a great extent to 27 per cent, with the situation deteriorating further. If nature is not protected, it will show its wrath on us. The roads are in a pathetic state and the law and order situation has collapsed, he added.

He appealed to the citizens to keep a vigil and save the city from the wrong decisions taken by some ignorant authorities.

Also present on the occasion were B R Bhat, president, PRSI and Sudhir Ghate, vice- president.
