Nioplias resigns as Cyprus football coach


Nicosia (Cyprus), Sep 12 (IANS): Nikos Nioplias has resigned as Cyprus coach in the wake of a disappointing campaign in World Cup qualifiers, the Cypriot football association (CFA) said on Thursday.

Cyprus are last in Group E after a 0-2 home loss to Slovenia Tuesday, reports Xinhua.

CFA staff will take charge of Cyprus' last two qualifying games against Iceland and Albania in October.
