Australian golfer Adam Scott eyes more glory

Sydney, Sep 12 (IANS): Australian world number two golfer Adam Scott is eager to keep his stellar form for the player of the year honours.

The 33-year-old Queenslander claimed Australia's first green jacket at the Masters in April and the first of the US PGA Tour playoff events at the Barclays in August.

Scott lines up for the third playoff event this week at Conway Farms Golf Club in Chicago.

At third in the season-long points list, Scott is already guaranteed safe passage to the Tour Championship in Atlanta and is almost certain to remain in the top five regardless of his result this week.

"I feel like I should get greedy right now and just win," Scott was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

"The confidence is there so I feel like I should capitalise on everything I have put into the year and try to win this week to get myself to No.1 position for next week.

"I think if I can get another win in the next two weeks here, then I give myself a great chance of being voted player of the year which I think is a huge honour," he added.
