'Joint action' with US proposed to nab Dawood: Shinde

Mumbai, Sep 9 (PTI): The Indian government has proposed a joint action with the United States to arrest the fugitive gangster and country's most wanted terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim, Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said here today.

"We have arrested some most wanted terrorists (of late) and have killed a few on the border. As far as Dawood (Ibrahim) is concerned, we are in touch with (US agency) the FBI," Shinde said, talking to reporters here.

"There is already a red corner notice (against Dawood Ibrahim). We have proposed a joint action with the US (to arrest him). US Attorney General Eric Holder has also agreed to this," he added.

Indian intelligence agencies have claimed for long that the gangster is living in Pakistan.

Shameless shinde, if you whip your tongue in a controlled manner, even you could have put pressure on Pak to hand over Dawood. Instead your words were on Safron terror!! you would not have come to this position of begging US to assist in nabbing a criminal! India misses diplomats like Indira Gandhi and Vajapayee.

If this is for real, is it a news to publish to media and public?. It ought to be a secret mission. Did US publish in media before that they have a proposed action to nab Osama? It is an utter bluff by HM.

Oh Shinde Saab, joint action with the help of USA is not at all required. Simply you pay few hundred Crores from Coalgate Scam Money to Nawaz Sharif and PAK will handover Dawood even ping in Mumbai Airport with no time.

Lancer is right US will never do any favors on any country (1) they need support now (2) They constantly give carrots - remember F16 & F18 deals!!! (3) only when somebody is a threat to them. Also, why arrest Dawood Ibrahim - India is just ensuring that Dawood wish is fulfilled he wanted to be buried in India. Wah re Indian politics - In the garb of nabbing Dawood you are fulfilling his last wish. As another person rightly said, why don’t you arrest Hafeez Saeed or maybe wait for another 30 years and then do it when he may want to be buried here. Be for the nation Shinde and Indian politicians and not for yourselves and those who are traitors. The day will come when people will rise and revolt if you don't stop this nonsense.

Dawood is hardly 55 year old now and not 85 as told by you.
Sympathy for Dawood seems to be lurking within you. We have so many such Indians who have sympathy for Criminals based on just Religion.
Between 1976 & 1981 when I was in Mumbai I had seen him as an urchin selling Cinema Tickets in Black outside Novelty cinema in Central Mumbai. Now after 37 years what may be his age, just guess.

The whole world is aware that Dawood shuttles between Karachi and Dubai. He has a sprawling Bungalow in a well secured massive compound close to Burj Dubai. Most Cab drivers in Dubai point this place when they drive through. It is a posh area.

While country needs to nab Dawood, too much courtship with US is not a good thing. It will not only antagonize anti US nations but US may ask for favors like accompanying their forces for attacking countries like Syria.
